The George M. Steinbrenner III Sport Leadership Award is an honor bestowed by the United States Olympic Endowment to recognize an outstanding contributor to sport. The individual's recognition must be demonstrated through management, sport organization endeavors, or the enhancement of competitive opportunities. The Steinbrenner Award is based on the qualities of leadership, ethical conduct, and dedicated responsibility reflected in his/her long standing contributions to sport. Nominees must be members of the United States Olympic family.
